» Member Satisfaction Chart

"The National Association of Uniformed Services (NAUS) wants to take a moment to support the US Family Health Plan program offered by the TRICARE Designated Providers, also known as USTFs. We see it as a choice for certain populations and a choice that is highly rated by beneficiaries. The nine Uniformed Services Treatment Facilities continue to treat military beneficiaries through their US Family Health Plan at a satisfaction rate of well over 90 percent (as contrasted to an overall satisfaction of 75 percent for TRICARE). The facilities offer the only DoD sponsored program that is keeping the military health care promise by guaranteeing care to Medicare eligible military beneficiaries fortunate enough to live near them and obtain care there."

"TRICARE through the US Family Health Plan at Johns Hopkins is THE best health care my family or I have ever had. Make sure our military leaders and our Congress does everything in its power to maintain this outstanding program."

John A. Beard, CTTCS, USN, Ret.
Naval Affairs, January 2000

"In 1999, overall satisfaction with the US Family Health Plan continues to be very high. When asked to rate the plan on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best possible plan, nine-tenths (90.9%) of members rate the plan 6 or higher. In fact, most members (79.5%) rate the plan 8 or higher, indicating very high levels of satisfaction."

"As someone fairly new to the area, it was reassuring to receive health care provided by a thoughtful and accommodating staff of doctors and assistants."

Meredith McMurdo
Spouse, USN Retiree

"It gives me great confidence having the same PacMed doctor for 10 years. He knows my personal history very well and works with me to address my individual needs and concerns."

Al Grantham
Retired Captain, USCG

"The members of the Retired Officers Association who are enrolled in the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan love it. It's a program that provides quality health care to its enrollees."

Virginia Torsch

“With our old plan, I was on the phone for two hours trying to reach someone in customer service. But we're very happy with US Family Health Plan. When you call the 800 number, there's someone who can help you with any question or problem. It's a pleasant change to talk to real people instead of machines. You never get the feeling you're out there on your own.”

William Davis
US Army, Ret.

“My wife and I were in an auto accident in Montana, 20 miles from the nearest town.  It took two ambulances and two aircraft to air-evac us to Billings. She was in intensive care for a week.  After a few more weeks, when I thought I'd be spending the rest of my life in Billings, Montana, the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan sent a Lear jet out of Denver.  It landed at 8:00 a.m. and we were on our way at 9:00 a.m. – the pilot, copilot, ambulance attendant, flight nurse and the two of us.  Four hours later we landed in Hyannis, where an ambulance was waiting to take my wife to the rehab hospital in East Sandwich.  I thought that was rather extraordinary.”

Rod Walz
US Air Force, Ret.

“Here's what I feel when I think of US Family Health Plan: Comfort. I have been a member of this plan since its inception and have always felt comfortable calling the 800 number to ask a question. The comfort comes from a 100% satisfactory answer and the sense of family that comes through every time.”

CSM Jean J.R. Roy
US Army Ret.
